Blake Shelton headlines two nights of concerts at Mohegan Sun

If it’s Thursday, there must be a coach from “The Voice” performing at Mohegan Sun.

Oh, OK, it’s only been two Thursdays, but still.

Last week, Kelly Clarkson was lighting up the Sun Arena in the first of her two-night stint there.

This week, Blake Shelton takes to the same stage for a similar Thursday-Friday one-two punch. Shelton has a lot to live up to best Clarkson in the most-fun-concert sweepstakes.

But if anyone can, it would be Shelton, who has a raft of raise-up-your-red-Solo-cup songs (“Boys ’Round Here” and “Some Beach” among them) and who has a wicked wit, which he wields so effortlessly on “The Voice.”

And here’s the thing: It’s not only Shelton. He has a Ryman Auditorium’s full of performers joining him. We’re talking The Bellamy Brothers, John Anderson and Trace Adkins. And Lauren Alaina, too, who was on that other singing competition show, “American Idol.”

Blake Shelton, 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Mohegan Sun Arena; $69-$129; 1-800-745-3000.
