    Lorde comes to Mohegan Sun

Grammy-nominated artist Lorde’s Solar Power Tour was unfortunately postponed in April, but ticket-holders and other fans will be excited to know she will finally appear at Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday.

The album’s namesake, her hit single “Solar Power,” teased the 2021 album and pumped up fans who were eager for another Lorde release. The full studio album dropped later in the year and was massively popular. “Solar Power” has an ethereal vibe to it; Pitchfork expressed how its “holistic beauty and revelations about the natural world” broke the mold of modern pop music.

Lorde’s talent was discovered by Universal Music Group when she was just 12. Her albums “Pure Heroine” and “Melodrama” helped the New Zealand artist rocket to stardom, with songs such as “Royals,” “Ribs,” “Green Light,” and “Liability.” “Melodrama” was awarded the 2017 New Zealand Music Award for Album of the Year.

Lorde is notorious for her painstakingly thoughtful musical process, so it’s likely she may not return to Connecticut soon. The upcoming show will be worth it for all regional music lovers.

    Lorde, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Mohegan Sun Arena; $49-$125; www.mohegansun.com.
