GM RECALLS 475,000 CHEVY CRUZE SEDANS

General Motors said Friday that it is recalling more than 475,000 Chevrolet Cruze sedans due to the risk of fire from flammable liquid that can get trapped in the engine compartment.

The recall covers 2011 and 2012 models produced at a plant in Lordstown, Ohio, from September 2010 through May 2012.

The main problem is that spilled oil, such as might occur during an oil change, can collect in the engine shield near hot surfaces and subsequently ignite, leading to injuries and/or deaths.

Most of the cars were sold in the U.S. and Canada. A fix will be performed for free at any Chevy dealer.
