    Orlando Ginnetti, 92, Davenport, Florida, and East Haven

    Orlando Ginnetti, 92, died in Florida on Sept. 24. He was the husband of the late Carol O'Connor Ginnetti and son of the late Gioacchino and Filomena Cuozzo Ginnetti. He had lived in Derby for most of his married life until moving to East Haven, at which time he also maintained a residence in Orlando, Florida. For the past year he had lived with his daughter, Carol Ginnetti Bragg, and her husband Glenn in Davenport, Florida. Orie was a veteran of World War II, having served with a fighter squadron of the Eighth Air Force. He had also worked for Avco Lycoming and later for the U.S. Department of Defense.

    Orie was a founding member of the Annex YMA and a communicant of St. Mary's Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Legion of Mary, and the Cana Club with his wife. He had a love for the New York Yankees, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his extended family.

    Besides his daughter and son-in-law in Davenport, Florida, he is survived by three other children, Kathleen Ginnetti Znosko and her husband Michael, James Ginnetti and his wife Susan Bray, and Thomas Ginnetti and his wife Theresa. In addition, he is survived by nine grandchildren, Stefan Znosko, Cynthia Bragg, Patricia Ginnetti, Alexander Znosko, Michael Ginnetti, Katrina Znosko, James Bragg, Jillian Ginnetti, and Sarah Ginnetti; two great-grandchildren, Clara-Rose Bragg and Mimi Ginnetti; a sister, Rosina Ginnetti Cusick and her husband Gerald; a sister-in-law, Kathleen O'Connor Burgess and her husband Kenneth; a brother-in-law, Miles O'Connor and his wife Marilyn; and three generations of numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers, Serafino, John, William, Albert, Ned, and Anthony ("Sonny") Ginnetti; a sister, Carmela Ginnetti Sorvillo; and two grandchildren, James Ginnetti and Susan Ginnetti.

    A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Church on Oct. 2. Burial was in St. Agnes Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society. The East Haven Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
