    Julienne J. Lejoly Hendricks, Madison, formerly of Trumbull

    Julienne Jeanne Lejoly Hendricks, of Madison, formerly of Trumbull, died on Dec. 3 at her home. She was the loving and dear wife of 61 years to the late William J. Hendricks. She was born in Verviers, Belgium, the eldest child of Francois Louis and Jeanne Lejoly. It was in Verviers that she met her beloved husband while he was serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. They made their home in Trumbull for 50 years before moving to Madison to live with their daughter. Julienne was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Saint Therese of Trumbull and Saint Margaret of Madison.

    She was a devoted wife and mother, as well as a gifted seamstress and tailor who enjoyed keeping a loving and gracious home for her family.

    She will be missed by her family, friends, and the people she met during her rich life.

    She is survived by her devoted and dedicated daughter, Jacqueline J. Lejoly Hendricks of Madison. She is also survived by  her sister-in-law Yvonne (“Curly”); her godson and nephew, Jean-Louis Lejoly of Belgium; her goddaughter, Joan Casale Barbier and her husband  Jacques and their children, Rita Lynn and David of Canada and Bill Casale and his family of Fairfield; her nephews, James Picken and his wife Barbara  and their son Robert of Long Island, Edward Hendricks and his wife Betty of Bridgeport and their children Maureen Fox and David Hendricks and family,  and Donald Hendricks  and his wife Linda and family  of Florida; and her dear “amie belge,” Marie-Anne of Newtown. 

    A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church of Madison on Dec. 9. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405, or to The Hendricks Memorial Bench, c/o Jacqueline Hendricks. The Swan Funeral Home of Madison was in charge of arrangements.
