Paul MacKinnon Stella, 79, of Guilford Court, Guilford, died June 8 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was born on Feb. 2, 1933 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, beloved son of the late Paul Joseph and Christine MacKinnon Stella. Mr. Stella was a long time resident of Guilford. He participated in town activities such as the Guilford Jaycees and Republican Town Committee. He had also been initiated into St. Albans Lodge No. 48 of Madison on Feb. 19, 1959.

Mr. Stella was a graduate of Boston University.  For most of his business life, he was involved with Connecticut Savings Bank Life Insurance, where he served two terms as chairman and secretary.    Mr. Stella was employed at several local savings banks, including Connecticut Savings Bank of New Haven, where he was promoted to bank officer in 1971 and served as such throughout the ‘90s, at which time he retired. 

Mr. Stella cherished the time spent with his family and cousin, Elsie Anne Whidden, at the family camp in Maine.  He will be remembered, loved, and missed by many.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 30, at 11 a.m., at Christ Episcopal Church, 11 Park St., Guilford. Burial will be in Alder Brook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 11 Park St., Guilford, CT 06437. The Guilford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
