    Gloria J. DeLucia Scafariello, 79, East Haven, formerly of North Haven

    Gloria J. DeLucia Scafariello, 79, of Apple Rehab/Laurel Woods, East Haven, formerly of Bowen Rd., North Haven, died peacefully on Aug. 29 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford, with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Anthony J. Scafariello, Sr. Gloria was born in New Haven on July 21, 1933, daughter of the late Joseph and Susan Aiello DeLucia. She had worked in the Resource Center at North Haven High School and also at Chatfield Paper, at ACES, and later at Anthem Blue Cross until her retirement. Gloria was also a volunteer at the Clelian Adult Day Care of Hamden and the Kidney Foundation.

    She is survived by her children, Ralph Scafariello and his wife Joann of Wallingford, Anthony J. Scafariello, Jr. and his wife Andrea of Wallingford, Donna Cifarelli of East Haven, and Lisa Scafariello and her partner Crystal Beckwith of North Haven; four grandchildren, Jason Scafariello and his wife Sara of Wallingford, Regina Scafariello of Wallingford, Kasie King and her husband Joseph of Meriden, and Renee Cifarelli of East Haven; and five siblings, Joseph DeLucia and his wife Vera of North Haven, Grace Argento of East Haven, Rose Fuchs of East Haven, Louise Esposito and her husband Buddy of North Haven, and Cam Palmieri of North Haven. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Angelo Cifarelli; her granddaughter, Nicole Cifarelli; and two brothers, Michael and George DeLucia.

    Her funeral procession left the North Haven Funeral Home on Sept. 1 for a mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Burial was in All Saints Cemetery.
