    Elias Bonilla, 48, New Haven

    Elias Bonilla, 48, of 78 Mechanic St., New Haven, died suddenly at his home on Oct. 20. He was born in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico, on Sept. 12, 1964, beloved son of Francisco and Gladys Perez Bonilla. He had resided in New Haven for most of his life and was a member of La Senda Milagrosa Church of New Haven. He was also a proud U.S. Army veteran.

    Besides his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Celia M. Cordero and her husband The Rev. Samuel Cordero of New Haven, Norma I. Bonilla of New Haven, and Marilyn Torres and her husband Luis of Hamden; four brothers, Francisco L. Bonilla and his wife Myrta of Branford, John Bonilla and his wife Anita of Cheshire,  Josue Bonilla of Woodbridge, and Samuel Bonilla and his wife Zaida of Woodbridge; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.www.washingtonmemorialfh.com

     His family will receive relatives and friends at the Star of Jacob Church, 506 Howard Ave., New Haven, on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 10 to 11 a.m.  Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial with military honors will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. The Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven, is in charge of arrangements.
