    Beulah Rita Werner, 90, Clinton

    Beulah Rita Werner, 90, a resident of Clinton for the past seven-and-a-half years, died on Nov. 6 at the Branford Hospice after a brief illness.  She was the wife of the late Edward C. Werner IV.  Beulah was born on Dec. 11, 1921, in the former British Colony of British Guiana, currently known as Guyana, in South America, daughter of the late Constantine and Phyllis De Freitas.  She had been president of the volunteers at the Queen of Peace Residence and Nursing Home in Queens, New York, for 22 years. 

    She is survived by her sons, Edward C. Werner V and Michael J. Werner; a niece, Brenda Farrell; and four grandchildren, Daniel Werner, Ryan Werner, Kenneth Werner, and Katherine Werner.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mildred Near of Longmont, Colorado.  She was predeceased by her sister, Thelma Rodrigues.

    Her funeral service was held in the Calverton National Veterans Cemetery in Calverton, New York, on Nov. 9. The Swan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
