Louise Ann (Cousins) Uricchio, 70, of Old Saybrook and Brooklin, Maine, died quietly on Jan. 5 at Middlesex Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with cancer. She was the wife of 47 years to Sabbot Uricchio. Louise was born in Middletown, daughter of the late Isabel (Bent) Cousins and Walter Cousins, formerly of Old Saybrook. She lived her preschool life in Old Saybrook before moving to Brazil where her father worked for Esso (Exxon). Louise was a member of the First Church of Christ, and, along with being a Sunday School teacher and a Deaconess, she was a member of the Church Bell Ringing Choir. She also had many hobbies, which included gardening, beading, sewing, knitting, birds, and kayaking. She loved animals and spent much time with her four loving cats.

After retiring, Louise loved most of all spending her summers in Brooklin, Maine with her family. She was active in craft groups in both Brooklin and the Old Saybrook area.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Brian Uricchio of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by her niece Cathy Hennard and her nephew Williams Cousins and their children, as well as a host of cousins. She was predeceased by her brother John Cousins and his wife Betty.

A memorial service will be held at the First Church of Christ (Congregational) in Old Saybrook on Sunday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 82S Broad St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
