Alfred G. Gibson, 65, of Westbrook, died suddenly at home on Feb. 17.  He was born in New London on July 29, 1947, son of Patricia (O’Shea) Gibson of Westbrook and the late Elmer Gibson. Al was very proud of having served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army.  After his time in the service, Al worked as a commercial fisherman for most of his life on the shoreline.  He was also very active in the American Legion and was well known locally.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his daughter Susan Jensen of Huntsville, Alabama; his brother Jack Gibson of Florida; and two sisters, Mary Greenlaw and Cathy Damto, both of Florida.  He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Angelica Hart and Caitlin Hart, both of Huntsville, Alabama.
