    Dolores 'Dee' Davis, 82, Deep River

    Dolores ‘Dee’ Davis, 82, of Deep River, passed away July 6 at Middlesex Hospital after a long illness. 

    Dolores worked for RR Donnelly and Sons for 35 years before retiring in 1995, then she worked for Bennies Farm market in Centerbrook for 15 years, retiring in 2012 .  She was a member of the Old Saybrook bowling  alley since 1968 and was active in league bowling until early 2013.  Dolores was involved in charity work for many years; knitting and crocheting sweaters, mittens and hats for area children and lap robes for the elderly in nursing homes.  She liked people, and helping them.  She also loved her yard and home, Betty Boop, jig saw puzzles, videos and her Nintendo game.  

    Dolores is survived by her daughter Linda D. Rivard-Lisitano  and her  husband Joseph of Old Lyme, her daughter Shari L. Taylor and her husband Tom of Deep River, her daughter Leslie C. Rivard-Barlow and her husband Ron of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, her son Richard (Skipper) O. Young and his wife Amber of Bangor, Maine, and her daughter Darlene Y. Nagy and her husband Tim of  Lititz, Pennsylvania.  

    She is also survived by her grandchildren; Mark S. Church and Pamela J. Fosnaugh, both of Texas, Christina M. Fosnaugh and William G. Fosnaugh of Ohio, Kim Molyneaux-Champ of New Mexico, Jessica Wellington, Byran Taylor and Audrey Albrecht, all of Connecticut, Richard O. Young III of New Jersey, Melanie Peterson and Tom Taylor, both of Florida, and Barbara J. Young of Arizona, as well as 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Sandra Young of Deep River in 2002. Dolores will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

    Per the request of Dolores, there will be no viewing or services.  Anyone wishing to express their sympathy is asked to send donations in her name to the American Cancer Association.  The Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd.
