    Josephine L. Diglio, 82, East Haven

    Josephine L. Diglio, 82, of East Haven, died July 13 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford after a long illness.

    Josephine was born Mar. 6, 1931 in New Haven, a daughter of the late Anthony and Louise (Amore) Diglio. She resided in Hamden for most of her life and had lived in East Haven for the past two years.

    Josephine worked as a service representative for the former SNET of New Haven for 12 years and then as a medical assistant for Peter Cavallaro, M.D. of New Haven for 30 years, until retiring in 1989.

    She was a communicant of St. Francis Church and lifelong member of the St. Francis Church Alumni Association.

    Josephine is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Diglio and Barbara Lupi and her husband John of East Haven, a brother in law, John Albino of East Haven, and her nieces and nephews; Shelly (Albino) McCarthy and her husband Gerald of New Haven, Steve Albino and his wife Lynn of Hudson, Massachusetts, Paul Albino of Bedford, New Hampshire, William Lupi and his wife Nancy of Branford, John Lupi and his husband Michael of Manhattan and Larry Lupi and his wife Melissa of Killingworth, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews. Josephine was predeceased by two sisters, Phyllis Cinque and Marie Albino, one brother, Anthony J. Diglio, and one brother-in-law, John Cinque.

    There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. Francis Church, 397 Ferry St., New Haven for a Mass of Christian burial on Thursday, July 18 at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Josephine’s name may be sent to the charitable organization of one’s choice.
