Sophie (Boncek) Struzinsky, 95, of Guilford, wife of the late Stanley Edward Struzinsky, died July 21. Sophie was born Sept. 2, 1917 in Greenfield, Massachusetts to the late John and Bertha (Murzyn) Boncek. 

Sophie served her country proudly during WWII in the U.S. Navy WAVES and was also a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary.

She is survived by her brothers; Randolph Boncek and his wife Leona of East Haven, Edward Boncek of Vermont and a sister; Ann Roberts of Massachusetts. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Sophie was predeceased by her brothers; Richard Boncek, Stephen Boncek, Chester Boncek and a sister; Gladys Fitzgerald.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford, Thursday, July 25 at 11 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. George Cemetery, Guilford. Friends may call Thursday, July 25 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford.
