Eleanor Charlotte (Ralph) Bradford, 95, of Deep River, beloved wife of 73 years to the late Kenneth Harland Bradford, died July 31. She was born Dec. 19, 1917 in Kearny, New Jersey to Chester and Charlotte (Turnbull) Ralph.

Eleanor lived in Deep River since June of 2005. She worked for a number of years as a bookkeeper, and was a member of the Deep River Baptist Church as well as a former active and faithful member of the Oakwood Avenue Baptist Church in Kearny. She was an avid gardener and also enjoyed handwork; Eleanor’s knitting and sewing talents were exceptional. In addition, she was a devoted homemaker, and beloved wife and mother. Her family was important to her as she was to her family.

Eleanor is survived by her two daughters Barbara A. Mackenzie and her husband Ted of Deep River and Sandra R. Waddell and her husband Bill of Newton, New Jersey; her son Kenneth H. Bradford, Jr., and his wife Carol of West Milford, New Jersey; six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her three sisters.

Funeral services will be privately held by her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eleanor’s name to the Deep River Baptist Church, P.O. Box 296, Deep River, CT 06417.
