Albert M. Blecich, 83, of Meriden, husband of Patricia Blecich, died Aug. 3 in Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Mr. Blecich was born Oct. 11, 1929 in Clifton, New Jersey to the late Mario and Anna (Klosz) Blecich.

He was director of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in West Haven from 1978- 1987 and in Castle Point, New York from 1987 - 1988, before retiring.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children David Blecich and his wife Debbie of Vermont, Peter Blecich of Colorado, Gregory Blecich of Meriden, Mary Blecich and her husband Vincent of North Haven, Elizabeth Sandella and her husband Gary of West Haven and Patricia Blecich Dobie of Meriden; his seven grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his sisters Florence Presti and Alice Montagnino.

Relatives and friends may attend a Mass of Christian burial Saturday, Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Branford. There are no calling hours. The W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, Branford, is in charge of arrangements. For directions and online memorial see www.wsclancy.com.
