Barbara Stebbins, 97, of Chester, formerly of Ivoryton, loving wife of 77 years to William Stebbins, died Aug. 4 at Chesterfields Health Care Center following a brief illness.

She was born Jan. 25, 1916 in Ivoryton to the late Sarah (Haskell) Parmelee and Burdette Parmelee.

In addition to her beloved husband, she leaves her three sons Donald of Deep River, David of Nokomis, Florida, and Richard of Essex; her grandchildren Donna, Terri, Sonny, Marcia, Sarah, Timothy, Kelly and Bethany; and her great-grandchildren Todd, Eric, Ashley, Logan, Kyle, Jake, Elizabeth and Madison.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Centerbrook Cemetery, Westbrook Road, Centerbrook. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Chesterfields Health Care Center, 132 Main Street, Chester, CT 06412 or to the Ivoryton Congregational Church, P.O.
