Francette Tansey Hames, 63, of East Haven, beloved wife of Andrew A. Hames, died Aug. 31 at her beautiful home in East Haven after a long illness. She was overlooking Long Island Sound.

Francette was born Oct. 3, 1949 in Newark, New Jersey. Always very creative and full of life, she was a fashion designer and jewelry maker during time spent living in New York. She loved to entertain and was an avid cook who enjoyed preparing her French and Italian family recipes and serving them with appropriate fine wines, skills that she learned from her family.

The family thanks the staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Hospice Home Care for the warm care given to Francine.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her precious cat Shadow, her beloved mother Ginette Tansey, her brothers Frank and Michael Tansey and their children, and her loving family in Paris, France.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be rested in her favorite place in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405 or the Closer to Free Fund at Smilow Cancer Hospital, P.O.
