    Simon P.J. Stewart, 74, Guilford

    Simon P.J. Stewart, 74, of Guilford, beloved husband of Katharine Skillen Stewart, died peacefully Oct. 2 at Peregrine's Landing at the Shoreline, Clinton. He was born April 3, 1939 in Coleraine, Northern Ireland to the late Irish international rugby player Joseph Stewart and Joyce Bee Stewart.

    Simon came to America in 1968 and worked at Sikorsky Aircraft for more than 30 years before retiring. He was a keen sportsman, a lifelong golfer, longtime member of the Milford Tuesday Soccer Club and a coach for Guilford Youth Soccer. Simon lived life to the fullest, loved to travel and was happiest when surrounded by friends and family, entertaining them with stories.

    He is survived by his daughter Katrina Stewart of Guilford; his son Patrick Stewart and his wife Kristen of Wynnewood, Pennsylvania; his sister Angela Nettleton and her husband Jeremy of Whitstable, England; and several beloved granddogs.

    Friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford, followed by a memorial service at the funeral home.
