Angela Sirugo, 101, of Madison, beloved wife of the late Oratius “Ray” Sirugo, died Dec. 16 at Watrous Nursing Center in Madison. She was born Aug. 19, 1912 in New York, New York to the late Mauro and Leontina Grisolia. She graduated from Washington Irving High School in Manhattan and began a career as a seamstress at Sirugo Dress Company, where she met and later married the son of the owner. She and her husband owned the company until his death in 1987.

She is survived by one of seven loving sisters, Albina Pauzano of Guilford; a grandson; a daughter-in-law; and a devoted extended family, which includes nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and great-grandnieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Ray L. Sirugo.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 20 at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, New York. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Sirugo may be made to the donor’s favorite charity. The Guilford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
