    Isaac Donneil Thornton, 52, Clinton

Isaac “Ike” Donneil Thornton, 52, of Clinton, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 9 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 10, 1961 to Susan Thornton and the late Isaac Thornton. He graduated from Old Saybrook High School in 1980, and was residing in Clinton at the time of his death.

Isaac had a passion for cooking, both as a career and for family and friends. He also worked for Atlas Moving for several years. He was an avid football and baseball fan (New York Yankees, of course). Isaac will be missed by many friends.

He leaves behind his mother and step-father, Pastors Walter and Susan Stecher of Port St. Lucie, Florida; his aunt Della Lawson and her husband Robert; his daughter Brooke Thornton of Toledo, Ohio; and his daughter Keara, step-daughter Heather, and son Taylor, all of Madison, and their mother Sandra Macri. He also leaves behind his companion of the last several years, Jean Bagley of Deep River; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his brother Michael.

A memorial service for Isaac will take place Saturday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 336 Main Street, Old Saybrook.
