Marian Phillips, 98, of Branford, passed away peacefully Feb. 19. She leaves behind her daughter Barbara Capria, and her son Robert Phillips; grandchildren Thomas, Christina, Cara, James, and Robert Capria, and Robert Phillips; and 11 great-grandchildren, Anton, Sofia, Eric, Dylan, Zoey, Isabel, Lucca, Alice, and Eliza Kate, Emily, and Sarah.

Marian was born in Liverpool, England and came to the United States as a baby girl in 1938. She returned to the United Kingdom because of World War II. Her son was born shortly after, and she and her mother survived the Blitz. In 1950 she returned to the United States permanently.

The family resided in Jersey City, New Jersey for many years. Her husband passed away and she then became a resident of Westport, and then Branford, the town that she really loved. She also loved to dance, and was always the life of the party. Marian lived a long and happy life.

There will be a memorial service in April at Compo Beach, Connecticut.
