Marjorie Barrett Matthews, 95

East Haven

Marjorie Barrett Matthews, 95, of East Haven, wife of the late F. Wayne Matthews, died on April 14 in Connecticut Hospice. Marjorie was born in New Haven on Dec. 16, 1918, daughter of the late Andrew and Isabel Griffith Barrett.

Prior to her retirement, Marjorie was a customer service representative for the former Union Trust Bank. She was also an avid Red Sox fan.

She was the mother of Wayne T. Matthews, Sr., and his wife Vivian of East Haven and the late Thomas Matthews. She was the sister of the late Dorothy Fowler and Geraldine Thompson.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated April 22 in Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Entombment followed in All Saints Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405; or Our Lady of Pompeii Church,
