Old Saybrook and Chester

Brian Patrick Ramirez, 85, of Old Saybrook and Chester, died May 29. He was born Aug. 6, 1928 in Scarsdale, New York, the son of Agnes and Manuel Ramirez.

Brian was a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point. After retiring from the Navy, he began a long and distinguished carrier with Aetna Life Insurance Co.

Brian was predeceased by his wife Judith White Ramirez. He is survived by his two daughters Cynthia Ramirez and her husband David Arnold of Chester, and Jennifer Russo and her husband Francis Russo of Avon.

A funeral Mass was held June 4 at St. Johns Church, Old Saybrook. Swan Funeral Home, Old Saybrook, was in charge of arrangements. Donations can be made to the Shoreline Soup Kitchen, P.O.
