    Men

    No. 10 W.Va. 81, No. 19 G'town 68

    Da'Sean Butler scored 22 points in his final home game and No. 10 West Virginia beat No. 19 Georgetown 81-68 on Monday night.

    The Mountaineers (23-6, 12-5) clinched a double bye into the quarterfinals of the Big East tournament.

    Devin Ebanks added 15 points, Kevin Jones scored 14 and Darryl Bryant had 11 for West Virginia.

    The free fall continues for Georgetown (19-9, 9-8), which was ranked No. 7 three weeks ago and has lost four of five.

    The Mountaineers led by as many as 27 points early in the second half and Georgetown, playing without ill leading scorer Austin Freeman, couldn't catch up.

    Women

    No. 16 St. John's 77, Pittsburgh 65

    Kelly McManmon scored 18 points and No. 16 St. John's won for the 11th time in 13 games and clinched a double-bye in the Big East tournament.

    Da'Shena Stevens added 17 points and 15 rebounds and Shenneika Smith had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Red Storm (24-5, 12-4), who reached 24 wins in a season for the first time in 26 years.

    Nadirah McKenith had 14 assists for St. John's, tying for the sixth-most in a game in school history. The Red Storm shot 7 for 13 on 3-pointers, including 6 of 9 by McManmon.

    Syracuse 67, No. 7 West Virginia 48

    Erica Morrow scored 23 points and Syracuse's efficient zone defense shut down No. 7 West Virginia in the second half.

    West Virginia (26-4, 13-3 Big East) had won six straight since an 80-47 loss at No. 1 UConn, but the Mountaineers, with the fourth-ranked defense in the nation, had the tables turned in this one.

    Senior night for Syracuse (20-9, 7-9) was spoiled when Nicole Michael, the school's all-time leading scorer and rebounder, left the game with 14:35 left in the second half after injuring her right foot. She finished with eight points and seven rebounds.

    No. 12 G'town 71, Seton Hall 49

    Sugar Rodgers scored 24 points and No. 12 Georgetown made a school-record 13 3-pointers.

    Monica McNutt scored 14 points and Latia McGee added 10 for the Hoyas (25-5, 13-3 Big East). McNutt had 10 points in the first half as Georgetown shot 9 for 14 on 3s while building a 41-15 lead at the break.

    Nicole Emery had 10 points to lead Seton Hall (9-20, 1-15), which shot 16 for 48 (33 percent). Kandice Green grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for the Pirates.
