    College basketball roundup

No. 1 Ohio St. 82, Penn St. 61

Jon Diebler had career highs of 30 points and 10 3-pointers on Tuesday night and Ohio State routed Penn State to clinch at least a share of the Big Ten title.

Diebler went 5 of 6 from behind the arc in the first half as the Buckeyes (28-2, 15-2) built a 15-point lead and never let up. Freshman center Jared Sullinger bullied his way through the lane for 10 points and 10 rebounds - though he wasn't needed much in the second half with Ohio State leading by as many as 26 points.

The win allowed the Buckeyes to earn at least a share of their fourth conference championship in six years and stay one game ahead of second-place Purdue. Ohio State can claim the conference title outright with a win over No. 10 Wisconsin on Sunday.

    No. 6 Purdue 75, Illinois 67

JaJuan Johnson scored 23 points and E'Twaun Moore added 18 to help Purdue beat Illinois.

Purdue (25-5, 14-3) finished with a 16-0 record at Mackey Arena and remained in contention for the Big Ten title.

    No. 14 Florida 78, Alabama 51

Chandler Parsons scored a season-high 19 points, Vernon Macklin also had 19 and Florida used a second-half surge to roll Alabama.

The Gators clinched at least a share of the Southeastern Conference championship and can claim their fifth outright league title with a win at No. 21 Vanderbilt on Saturday. Florida (23-6, 12-3) also would win the league if Georgia beats Alabama earlier Saturday.

The Crimson Tide (19-10, 11-4) needed a road win to improve their chances of making the NCAA tournament. Now, the Tide probably need to win the SEC tournament to earn the league's automatic bid.

    No. 20 Kentucky 68, No. 21 Vanderbilt 66

Brandon Knight scored 17 points and Kentucky finally found a way to win a close game.

Terrence Jones added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Wildcats (21-8, 9-6 Southeastern Conference), who remained unbeaten at Rupp Arena under coach John Calipari.

Festus Ezeli led the Commodores (21-8, 9-6).

    Nebraska 69, No. 22 Missouri 58

Lance Jeter scored 16 points and Nebraska used a 17-2 second-half run to pull away from Missouri.

It was the last regular-season Big 12 home game for Nebraska (19-10, 7-8), which moves to the Big Ten next season.

The Tigers (22-8, 8-7) dropped to 1-7 in Big 12 road games and had a dent put in their hopes to finish in the top four in the conference and earn a bye in the first round of next week's league tournament.

Jorge Brian Diaz had 14 points, Toney McCray 13 and Brandon Ubel 11 for the Huskers.

Marcus Denmon had 16 of his 19 points in the second half for Missouri.
