    YOUTH SOCCEROld Lyme’s Nguyen honored

    Hartford — Luke Nguyen, an eighth grade student at The Country School of Madison, scored six goals to help TCS when the recent Kingswood Oxford boys’ soccer tournament.

    The Country School went 4-0 in the tourney, including a 2-1 overtime victory over Foote School of New Haven in the championship match, and Nguyen, the son of Dr. Tu T. Nguyen and Dr. Joyce A. Tinsley of Old Lyme, was named to the all-tournament team.GOLFOld Lyme CC

    Recent results from the Southeastern Connecticut Youth Hockey League:

    Sept. 26

    ■ The SEC Mite travel team beat the Hamden Green Dragons 8-3. Nick Obourn had three goals, one in the second period and two in the third, and Nate Hopkins two goals and two assists for the Seahawks. Evan Tower, Tim Flynn and Devyn Jordan also had goals, with Jordan adding two assists. It was the first career goal for Flynn.

    Oct. 2

    ■ Pee Wee A defeated Hamden Pee Wee B 9-2 at the Norwich Ice Rink. Scoring for the SEC team were Hunter Desaulnier (2), Brendan Allen (2), Taylor Huta (2), Zachary Burnham (2) and Kevin Close, while Brenden Schneider had two assists. Goalies Ben Amor and Justice Ford each had five saves.

    ■ Squirt A lost to Watertown 6-1. Grayson Colvin had the only goal for SEC on a penalty shot. Latham Woodman made 10 saves in net.

    ■ Bantam A topped the Central Connecticut Capitals Bantam B team 6-0. Dylan O’Leary had two goals and an assist for SEC and Tyler Faulker, Matt Turo, Ben Thompson and Drew Bradley added goals. Kiefer Stroebel had two assists and Shaun LoVetere recorded 17 saves in the shutout.

    Oct. 3

    ■ Taylor Huta had four goals and an assist to lift the Seahawks’ Pee Wee A team to a 7-1 win over the Whalers Pee Wee B team. Zachary Burnham, Brendan Allen and Will Vorra each had a goal and Hunter Desaulnier added a pair of assists. Ben Amor had three saves and Justice Ford seven saves in goal.

    ■ Squirt A tied Central Squirt B 2-2, getting goals from  Zach Bradley assisted by Kyle Cobelentz, and Riley Jordan assisted by Brendan Tew. Adan Shobe made 22 saves in goal.

    ■ Bantam A lost to Western Connecticut Bantam B, 4-3. Matt McMillan had a goal and an assist for the Seahawks and Dylan O’Leary and Kiefer Stroebel added goals. Ben Thompson, Zach Jones and Logan Morin finished with assists and Shaun LoVetere had 28 saves.

    Oct. 9

    ■ Pee Wee A lost to Enfield Pee Wee A 4-2 at the Norwich Ice Rink. Hunter Desaulnier had a goal and an assist for SEC and Will Vorra added a goal. Ben Amor had 15 saves and Justice Ford had seven.PISTOLNew London County League
