East Lyme's McDonald traded to Cleveland

John McDonald is headed back to where his major league career began.
The Day has learned McDonald, currently on the disabled list with the Pittsburgh Pirates, has been traded to the Cleveland Indians and will be activated for Tuesday's game against the Rangers at Texas.
McDonald, the former East Lyme High School and UConn-Avery Point star, made his major league debut with the Indians in 1999 and stayed with the team until being traded to the Toronto Blue Jays in 2005.
