    Lebanon man charged with shooting girlfriend

    State police arrested a Lebanon man Thursday who is accused of shooting his girlfriend.

    Jason Durr, 27, of 424 Kick Hill Road, was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, first-degree assault and illegal possession of an assault weapon.

    The victim, who is from Westerly, sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Windham Hospital, where she was later transferred to Hartford Hospital. The victim sustained serious injuries, but is expected to survive, police said.

    Police said at 1:08 a.m. Wednesday they responded to the shooting at Durr's house. Upon arrival, state police located the victim.

    Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad processed the crime scene and interviewed witnesses.

    Durr is being held on a $750,000 bond, pending his arraignment today in New London Superior Court.
