Tour De Noank 5-K to tie up traffic Saturday

Groton – Police advise that the "Tour De Noank 5-K" road race on Saturday morning will tie up traffic in the village.

Town of Groton police said set-up for the Fun Run will begin around 9:15 a.m. The race will leave Esker Point Beach at 10 a.m. Runners will go through Noank and then up Elm Street to Brook Street. Traffic could be "moderate" until about noon Saturday, police said, and motorists are urged to use extra caution.

Police said the following roadways will be affected:

- Groton Long Point Road: from Brook Street to Esker Point Beach.

- Brook Street: between Groton Long Point Road and Elm Street.

- Elm Street: between Groton Long Point Road and Brook Street.

- Marsh Road: from Groton Long Point Road to Terrace Avenue.
