    Ten arrested during Norwich prostitution investigation

    Norwich — Police arrested 10 people Wednesday night during an undercover operation targeting illegal prostitution near Central Avenue in the Greenville section of the city.

    Mary Gibbs, 59, of 99 Ward St., was charged with prostitution and Dawn Brennan, 46, of 2 Jodry St., Waterford, was charged with two counts of prostitution.

    The following individuals were charged with patronizing a prostitute: Clodee Desardouin, 25, 114 Broad St., Unit A; Wualter Vicente, 32, 78 Golden St., Apt. 2; Pedro Osorio, 29, 7A Golden St.; James Raymond, 69, 29 Governors Circle, Groton; Marcio Melo, 28, 677 North Main St.; Erivelton Campos, 29, 168 West Thames St.; and Charles Speight, 63, 44 Norwich Ave., Apt. 16.

    James Orowson, 40, 495 Voluntown Road, Griswold, was charged with criminal attempt to possess crack cocaine.

    After local residents complained, the Norwich Police Department Detective and Patrol Divisions conducted the undercover operation. The accused were each released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and are scheduled to be arraigned July 26 in Norwich.
