    New London police seek CVS store robber

    New London - Police are seeking a suspect after responding to a call that a robbery occurred at the CVS pharmacy on Bank Street Sunday evening.

    In a press release, police said that officers who responded the pharmacy at 7:26 p.m. to 817 Bank St. learned that a white or Hispanic male wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt with a red stripe across the chest and arms and black pants had handed a note to the store clerk that demanded the clerk "empty [your] drawer, just bills, no noise."

    Witnesses reported that the man kept one of his hands concealed in his clothing as if he had a weapon.

    Police said the suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were sustained by any victims or witnesses. Officers searched the immediate and surrounding areas of the store, which is at the corner of Jefferson Avenue, but did not locate the suspect, who remains at large.

    The suspect is described as white or Hispanic, in his mid -0's, 5'5" to 5'8" tall.
