Westerly – Police arrested a man and woman who allegedly robbed a Franklin Street bank Tuesday morning.
After the 8:53 a.m. robbery of the Washington Trust Company, Nicholas J. Sacco, 22, of Westerly, and Shakeyla M. Hazard, 20, of South Kingstown, were each charged with second-degree robbery and conspiracy.
Police said Sacco handed a teller a note demanding cash and then fled with an undetermined amount of money. No weapons were displayed, police said, and evidence, including cash, has been seized from several locations.
Police said the investigation is ongoing but no further arrests are expected.
