    Police: about 300 bags of synthetic marijuana seized from Norwich convenience store

    Norwich – The Norwich police department seized a vehicle, more than $15,000 and about 300 bags of more than $6,000 of synthetic marijuana Friday during a search and seizure at Citgo Convenience Store at 406 West Main Street.

    Mohammad Rayyashi, 39, of Windsor Locks was charged with possession of synthetic marijuana, sale of synthetic marijuana and possession of synthetic marijuana with intent to sell, according to a press release.

    Police obtained a search and seizure warrant after an investigation with the assistance of public sources that included undercover purchases of synthetic marijuana. Rayyashi posted a $25,000 bond and was ordered to appear in Norwich Superior Court Dec. 20.
