    New London police investigate convenience store robbery

    New London – Police are investigating a robbery that occurred Saturday afternoon at the Sunshine Convenience Store, 84 Broad St.

    At 12:39 p.m., police said, a lone male entered the store and approached the counter. He displayed a knife and demanded that the clerk give him money. The male then fled the store on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.

    Police said he was last seen running eastbound on Broad Street towards Hempstead Street. The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, 5-foot, 3-inches to 5-foot, 6-inches tall, about 130 pounds with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt.

    The clerk was not injured during the robbery, police said.
