Montville man dies in one-car crash off I-395
Norwich — A 20-year-old Montville man died Saturday morning when the vehicle he was driving veered off Interstate 395 North near Exit 80 and hit a tree, state police said.
Shane R. Sweeney, of 100 Cherry Lane in the Oakdale section of Montville, was the sole occupant of the 2012 Chevrolet Express 2500 he was driving, police said. The car was registered to Wisconsin Bell Inc., a subsidiary of AT&T.
The accident was reported at 9:47 a.m.
Firefighters from the East Great Plain Volunteer Fire Department worked to extricate Sweeney from the vehicle. The white van had extensive damage to the passenger side, police said.
