Police continue efforts to stop heroin dealing

Norwich — Police arrested two residents and seized bags of heroin and drug paraphernalia that suggested a drug trafficking operation, along with $800 in cash, Thursday on Boswell Avenue.

Gilman Standish, 52, and Amanda Guzman, 50, both of 70 Boswell Avenue, No. 3., were charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrests followed a narcotics search-and-seizure warrant in which the Norwich Police Detective and Patrol Divisions — aided by the Community Policing Unit — searched 70 Boswell Ave., No 3.

Standish was held in lieu of a $10,000 bond, and Guzman was held in lieu of a $5,000 bond pending an April 12 arraignment in Superior Court, according to police.
