Willimantic — Police are investigating an early morning robbery at the Cumberland Farms located on Jackson Street.

Police said at 1:45 a.m. they received a report of the robbery. Police said that a man had entered the store and struggled with the clerk in an attempt to take money from the cash register.  The man eventually grabbed an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot.

The robber is described at 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall. He is of medium build and has facial hair. He was wearing a tan shirt, jeans and a tan beret-style cap. The clerk told police that the man spoke with an accent and appeared to be of Middle Eastern descent.
