Ledyard — Police are looking for whoever is responsible for several instances of vandalism in town over the past week.

The suspect, or suspects, combined various items in a plastic bottle to cause a chemical reaction that burst the bottle, police said. No one has been injured but police say the potentially explosive devices are unpredictable and can result in property damage, serious injury or death, and that criminal charges will be pursued in this case.

Anyone who sees one of these devices should contact police and not attempt to move it on their own.
