Police intervene on New Hampshire fugitive attempting to commit suicide at Mohegan Sun

Mohegan — State police casino unit officers forced their way into a hotel room at Mohegan Sun Friday and provided medical attention to a man wanted on four felony warrants in New Hampshire who was attempting to commit suicide.

Officers entered the room after police in Lebanon, N.H., alerted them that the man may be staying at a hotel at the casino. They found the man cutting his wrists and attempting to hang himself with a belt, according to a news release. Officers intervened and provided medical attention to William Roy, 65, of Lebanon, N.H. He was taken to The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, where he was treated and released.

Roy was charged with being a fugitive from justice and taken to Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center in Montville, where he is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond pending a Monday court appearance.
