    Ledyard police seek driver in hit-and-run accident

    Ledyard - Police are looking for the driver who struck and injured a teenager Friday night in front of the Mobil gas station on Route 117.

    Police said they responded to the accident at about 11:10 p.m. They found that a 16-year-old male had been struck by a car and was being treated at the scene by the Ledyard Fire Department and the Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad before being transported to the Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

    According to multiple witnesses, the driver of the evading vehicle stopped to check on the teen, but left prior to the arrival of emergency services.

    Witnesses described the vehicle as a light blue or silver 2008-2013 Audi A4 or A6 with tinted windows. The driver is described as a light skinned black or Hispanic male, 20 to 30 years old with short hair and a goatee. He was wearing baseball cap on backwards and glasses.
