New London police charge two in theft of dirt bike
New London – Police on Sunday arrested a New London man and a 17-year-old on charges linked to the theft of a $9,000 dirt bike reported missing out of Montville last month.
An ongoing investigation led officers to a garage at 10 Walker St. in New London on Sunday, police said. At the garage, police said they found 30-year-old Elvin Valentin of New London working on a 2009 Kawasaki KLX-250.
After checking the vehicle identification number of the motorcycle, police said they discovered it was reported stolen on Aug. 13 from a resident in Montville.
The Montville theft is just one of several reports of stolen motorcycles from surrounding towns.
Valentin was arrested at the scene. Both Valentin and a 17-year-old juvenile were charged with third-degree larceny.
