Motor vehicle stop in New London leads to the seizure of drugs
New London — A routine motor vehicle stop Thursday night led to the arrest of a Groton man on numerous drug charges.
Reginald Hill, 35, of 302 Shennecossett Road, Groton, was charged with possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, interfering with police and assault on public safety personnel.
Police said they pulled over Hill at the intersection of Williams and Huntington streets, leading them to the discovery of more than 8 ounces of marijuana. The incident happened around 8:20 p.m.
During the arrest, one officer was kicked in the knee while another officer sustained minor scratches.
Hill is being held on a $25,000 bond, pending his arraignment today in New London Superior Court.
