Groton police searching for bank robbery suspect
Groton - Town police are on the hunt for the man who robbed the Citizens Bank branch on Long Hill Road Wednesday afternoon.
The robbery was reported at about 3:06 p.m. and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police said no one was injured and no weapon was displayed during the robbery.
The suspect is described as a black man, 6 feet tall and weighing about 230 pounds. He was wearing a Boston Red Sox cap and a blue shirt with a design on the front at the time of the robbery.
The bank is closed, and police have cordoned off the parking lot with yellow crime scene tape.
