New London — City police on Wednesday arrested a 43-year-old New London resident on numerous charges for his alleged connection to a four-day crime spree that included armed robberies and commercial burglaries.

Eduardo Torres, of 203 Jefferson Ave., was charged following an investigation into three overnight commercial burglaries, one attempted burglary and two armed robberies in the area of Colman Street and Jefferson Avenue. The crimes all occurred between Oct. 18 and Oct. 21, according to a statement from Deputy Chief Peter Reichard.

Police said evidence collected at the scenes of the crimes led to an arrest warrant for Torres. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with one count of attempted third-degree robbery, three counts of third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, fifth-degree larceny and two counts of first-degree robbery.

Torres was held in lieu of a $250,000 bond pending an appearance in New London Superior Court.
