Two New London women arrested on burglary charges

    Satasha Senior

New London — Police arrested two local women Saturday who they say burglarized the Brazilian Market at 81 Truman St.

Satasha Senior, 25, of 103 Truman St., Apt. 1, was charged with first-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief.

Darnicia Robinson, 23, of 7 Denison Ave,. was charged with conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.

Police said they responded to a burglar alarm at the convenience store at about 7:23 p.m. Police found that the front door of the store had been kicked in and that several items were stolen.

Police interviewed several witnesses and were able to broadcast a description of the suspects — two women and one man.

Officers stopped Senior and Robinson two blocks away from the store. The women were positively identified by witnesses and were also found in possession of the stolen items.

Senior was also charged with reckless burning and reckless endangerment when she lit a roll of toilet paper on fire in her cell. There were no injuries or property damage.

The case remains open and police have applied for an arrest warrant for the male suspect.
