New London — Two men who police say were responsible for committing several serious crimes throughout the city, including a home invasion Wednesday at a 91-year-old's residence, were arrested Saturday night on warrants.

Police said the two also committed a second home invasion, a residential burglary and the October burglary of Daniel's Dairy Downtown, at 60 Bank St.

Jaden Alvarez, 20, of 171 Oneco Ave., No. 3, New London, and Marcus Delgado, 19, of 47 Elderkin Ave., were each charged with home invasion, conspiracy to commit home invasion, first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, and two counts of first-degree burglary.

The two allegedly threatened to use a stun gun to rob the 91-year-old homeowner of money. They also threatened the use of a stun gun in the second home invasion, police said.

Police served the warrant for Alvarez while he was in custody at the police station for weapons charges police arrested him for on Friday. Delgado was arrested at Waterford Regal Cinemas while watching a movie.
