Norwich man charged with home invasion in New London

    Mychael Wright

New London — A Norwich man was arrested Thursday on charges that he kicked in the door at his former New London residence and, armed with an edged weapon with a large blade, threatened an adult occupant.

A 4-year-old was in the Denison Avenue residence when police said Mychael Wright, 41, of 99 Cedar St. in Norwich, entered the home at 3:37 p.m. seeking money owed to him for an undisclosed matter. That person was not at home, police said.

The two victims were not visibly injured, but police said the child was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital as a precaution.

Wright was charged with home invasion, two counts of risk of injury to a minor, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, second-degree threatening and sixth-degree larceny. He was held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
