    Waterford road reopens 13 hours after accident snaps pole

    Waterford — Mullen Hill Road between Spithead Road and Stoneheights Drive reopened at about 7 Friday night, after being closed for most of the day due to an accident.

    At about 6:10 a.m., a car struck and snapped a utility pole. The road was closed for about 13 hours until Connecticut Light & Power crews completed repairs to the pole. The accident caused power outages to 281 people for part of the day. As of early this evening, power had been restored to all customers, according to information on CL&P's website.

    There were no injuries.
