Griswold — State police are investigating the theft of 18 metal storm drain covers that were taken from numerous residential streets in town.

Police said the drain covers were discovered missing on Tuesday. The town had to replace them to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians. The cost to replace the covers was $3,600.
